Last Friday, April 1, JD was invited to moderate the panel ‘The Intelligence of Everyday Things’, a talk about the possibilities of regenerative furniture, organized by SPACE10, as part of the activities surrounding the opening of his pop -up in CDMX, which took place during the month of April.

SPACE10 is a research and design laboratory, which, in collaboration with IKEA, develops ‘Everyday Experiments’, a continuous series of explorations that seek to reinvent the roles of technology in the home.

As part of this series of experiments, Oio Studio presented “Updatables”, an application that makes everyday objects intelligent, so that they can detect when they are in use, have been moved or the needs of their users have changed, proposing new ways to remain relevant. During the event, Jorge Diego presented “Mexicanatables”, a brief conference about the potential application that the Oio studio project could have in the Mexican context. After the talks by Oio and JD, Amor Muñoz and the Space10 team came together to hold a panel on the topic.

For the studio, it is important to participate in activities that seek to open dialogue and reflection around the design ecosystem in Mexico.
