The Pangea Tableware graphically abstracts the emblematic topography of Monterrey, a design by Jorge Diego Etienne and production by Cerámica Suro, in close collaboration with Chef Guillermo González for his renowned restaurant.
The tableware is intended to provoke a unique appreciation of the gastronomic experience at Pangea, a proposal that continues to be at the forefront of Mexican gastronomy. One of the Chef's requirements was to transmit the identity of the city through the formal and graphic proposal of the collection. Through textures and colors, these objects speak about their context and the mountains that surround the city. These pieces make up a graphic abstraction of the emblematic topography of the region.
After several co-creation sessions with Chef González, the studio collaborated with Cerámica Suro to produce the designs in their factory. Each piece possesses simple yet strong expressions that combine transitions of rusty and earthy colors along with organic shapes, according to its specific functionality. To achieve the patterns and surface treatments inspired by mountain ranges, the artisans at Cerámica Suro combined complex drawing and painting techniques that demonstrate the mastery and quality in each piece.
The composition is made up of a bread plate, a soup plate, a dessert plate, a vase and a salt container; elements that are present during most of the culinary scene.
